I. Requirements for graduation and academic degree application for doctoral and master’s students
A. Requirements for graduation
1. Passing all the degree courses and earning credits as required
2. Completing the program within the required time (six years for a doctorate, five years for a master’s degree)
3. Fulfilling the requirements in the training plan and passing the interim assessment
4. Completing the dissertation and passing the dissertation review and defense
5. Full payment of tuition and fees
B. Requirements for degree application
1. Fulfilling the requirements for graduation.
2. Fulfilling the requirements for academic achievement as follows:
a) For a doctorate: fulfilling the requirements for an academic doctoral degree; one first-authored publication relevant to the dissertation in the MEDLINE or SCI journals; using Nanjing Medical University as the applicant’s and supervisor’s primary affiliation
b) For a master’s degree: fulfilling the requirements for an academic master’s degree; one publication relevant to the dissertation in the MEDLINE or SCI journals; using Nanjing Medical University as the applicant’s and supervisor’s primary affiliation
3. Approval by the NMU Academic Degree Committee
II. Requirements for graduation and master’s/doctoral degree application in clinical/stomatological medicine
1. Passing all the degree courses and earning credits as required.
2. Completing the program within the required time (six years for a doctorate, five years for a master’s degree).
3. Completing the clinical rotations and clinical practice hours as stipulated in the training plan
4. Passing the clinical theory and practice ability assessment
5. Completing the dissertation and passing the defense
6. Full payment of tuition and fees
7. Approval by the NMU Academic Degree Committee
